Our British Shorthair Stud
Muffin, our British Shorthair stud, has a private chalet during the time that he is available to mate – when he is not mating he has free reign of our garden. His chalet is safe from injury and escape and is cleaned meticulously. Muffin is fully vaccinated.
When your queen arrives, she is settled into her own quarters until she begins crooning. We remain in attendance during mating as mating and separation can at times be quite violent. Following a successful mating, after the voluptuous rolling over stage that follows mating, the queen is returned to her quarters. We like to keep the queen with us for three or four days and we keep complete records of all matings.
We are unable to board your queen without a valid and up to date vaccination certificate. All queens must be accompanied by an up-to-date record of vaccination against Infectious Feline Enteritis, feline respiratory disease and other relevant diseases. The course of vaccinations must have been completed at least 4 weeks before the first date of boarding or in accordance with the vaccine manufacturer’s instructions. This record of vaccination must be kept on-site throughout the period that the queen is boarded.
Please make sure that yearly boosters are kept up to date. Any cat being vaccinated for the first time currently requires 2 injections, usually 3 weeks apart. We cannot accept your queen until after the final injection is viable in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. This is often less than 4 weeks (usually 7 – 10 days), if in doubt please ask your Vet when the vaccine can be considered to be viable.
Muffin costs £500 to stud and you can pre-book with a £250 deposit a mating certificate will also be provided.
