We have British Shorthair kittens for sale. Fill in our waiting list to adopt kittens from our spring/autumn 2024 litters. Kittens usually arrive around spring and autumn each year. We work on a first come first served basis, so it is important to get your name on our waiting list as soon as possible. Please note that most people decide to pay their deposit straight away, therefore, the only way to secure a kitten is by filling in our Adoption Form. Deposits are non-refundable. By filling in the Adoption Form you will need to fully understand and agree that to secure a kitten you will be given two dates in the year – spring and autumn. This is to prevent disappointment in case we have fewer kittens than usual.
We also have a paw-picked selection of high-quality British sheepskins for the kittens to leave with a bed familiar to them. Please visit our shop as new elegant items are added regularly. Our kittens are reared in our home. For more information please refer to our FAQ page.

Reserve a Kitten
How to reserve a kitten
If you don’t want to wait you can reserve your kitten immediately by paying a deposit. Please note that a waiting time of 6-9 months until kittens are born is very common. The details you need for this can be found in the Adoption Form below. We will then contact you as soon as the kittens are ready for viewing. You can also request a viewing date before or after your booking.
- Arrange a viewing date in Cheltenham or Worcester and wait for an email confirmation of your booking. Please book viewing only after the kittens are born. Both locations are the homes of ‘crazy cat parents’ who love their cats and spoil their kittens rotten. The environment is always clean and safe for kittens to grow happy and healthy.
- Fill in our Adoption Form for the kitten of your choice.
Before Collection
Things you must do BEFORE collection (Please note that kittens will not be able to leave without these!)
- Full payment must be cleared before collection by online transfer only.
- Muffin & Poppy’s Spaying/Neutering Agreement must be completed before collection.
Information you need BEFORE collection
- Muffin & Poppy’s Kitten Care Guide to find out about your pet’s preferences. Our FAQ page can also be helpful.
- Please download and fill in the Transfer of Keepership form (no Petlog transfer code needed) to record a microchipped pet on the Petlog database to your name. You will need to post the filled-in form to Petlog. Please check the Petlog website for the current transfer price.
- Make sure that you’ve read Petplan’s Pre-Activation Documentation and Terms of Service.
- There is plenty of street parking available near the premises.
After Collection
Chances are your kitten will be shy at first. Sometimes it might take 1-2 weeks for them to adapt to their new environment. Here are some things you can do to make sure your kitten feels comfortable upon arrival.
- Ensure your kitten has a safe place with toys, a scratching post, litter, fresh water and dry and wet food available. Feeding routine: water and dry food throughout the day and wet food in the mornings and evenings. Water can be added to the wet food for extra hydration.
- Introduce them to a small part of their house at first and show them where everything they need is. Your kitten is fully litter trained and loves eating and playing.
- Download and fill in the Transfer of Keepership form (no Petlog transfer code needed) to record a microchipped pet on the Petlog database to your name.
- Fill the back of the GCCF registration certificate and send it back to them to transfer your kitten to your name and address.
- Spend some time playing with your kitten when he has rested from the journey and feels up to it. This is a great way to bond with your new companion.
A home with a British Shorthair is a happier home. Muffin & Poppy would love every loving home in the UK to have one of their gorgeous kittens. We take the well-being of our kittens very seriously so we might also ask you some questions. Here are some basic questions we might ask you. We will then proceed with your adoption application.
All our British Shorthair kittens are reared in a loving home with children. They leave GCCF Registered (non-active unless previously agreed), fully vaccinated, microchipped, health checked, dewormed, defleaed, insured for 4 weeks with Petplan, weaned, litter trained and with full pedigrees. All our kittens are fed on Royal Canin Baby Cat.

Muffin and Poppy provide an exceptionally wonderful nursery for British Shorthairs. Communication was always exceptional, from our first inquiries through to our follow-ups post relocation to their new home. This business is family run and operated. The Queens are loved family pets, and the litters are raised in the breeder’s homes. We received regular photos and updates as our Kits grew up. Muffin and Poppy were entirely helpful with us supplying beds and other things to help with the eventual transition to their homes. We (my wife and I) have had many cats and kittens, and we have never encountered such well adjusted, happy, well trained kittens. Seriously, we had a complex week-long plan of introducing anxious and scared kittens into a new strange space. Within 30 minutes of them arriving in their home, they had used their litter box, shown intense curiosity about their new homes, and most importantly, both slept with us on the first night with their little purr engines running at 100%. Muffin and Poppy have given us the greatest gift we could have imagined, two wonderful, gorgeous, well adjusted and trained British Shorthair girls. Worth every cent. We are so thankful.
